Overview
As a UX Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience strategy and driving the design process from concept to implementation.
You will be responsible for the management, growth, and success of our design team and will ensure the overall quality of design delivered to our clients. With your strong understanding of design principles, information architecture, UI and interaction design, user experience research, design systems, as well as exceptional leadership skills, you will drive our team to create inspiring user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
- Manage allocations and client/product priorities to meet client needs and challenge team members effectively.
- Lead and mentor a team of world-class UX designers, fostering a collaborative, creative, and product experience-focused design culture.
- Support the team’s structure, processes, and environment to deliver on expectations.
- Coach designers on both hard and soft skills and support their professional growth.
- Maximize revenue by driving revenue for the design team including having designers match estimates to actuals.
Product Design and Process Oversight:
- Ensure the quality of design work produced and that team members feel responsible for their work’s quality.
- Ensure designers follow our design process and identify areas of waste and opportunities for improvements.
- Drive clarity in product vision and requirements while considering client, user, and ITX concerns.
- Collaborate effectively with the team to create a world-class product.
Thought Leadership:
- Share design knowledge through speaking, writing, and other channels internally and externally. This includes user experience design, product design, design processes, design thinking, and data-driven design/measurement.
Requirements & Key Metrics
Requirements:
- Proven experience, with a minimum of 8 years, in a design-related field as a practitioner.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing designers for digital products.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, UI and interaction design, UX research, and design systems and libraries.
- A keen eye for visual design, product aesthetics, and brand alignment.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Experience in planning, overseeing, and ensuring high-quality design services and deliverables.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to understand and effectively communicate perspectives, concerns, and requirements from both clients and the internal team.
- Effective and comfortable interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members of all levels and backgrounds.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a collaborative and product-focused design culture.
