About the role

At komoot, we’ve rewritten the playbook for hiring, and we’re inviting you to join us!

We have a dynamic and decentralised system with autonomous hiring teams. As a Talent Acquisition Manager, you won’t be a cog in a machine, You’ll be taking the lead and orchestrating improvements. Your goal is to craft, refine, and elevate our existing TA processes and frameworks to improve the komoot team and attract world class talent.

We’re looking for someone who views the TA function as a product and is excited to create seamless, scalable, and sustainable hiring solutions that grow with komoot. Your responsibilities extend beyond pure recruitment. You’re here to guide our hiring leads by helping them refine their skills and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll also develop and train hiring teams at komoot.

You’ll join forces with Maria (TA Lead) and Rebecca (TA Coordinator) on our mission to make the outdoors more accessible by assembling the best team.  For a period of ~1 year you’ll also slip into Maria’s shoes, as she embarks on a different adventure and goes on maternity leave.

The role is a full-time and permanent one and can be done from any location within the UTC-1 to UTC+3 timezone.

What you will do

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Operations

  • Take ownership of the entire end-to-end recruitment process and hands-on recruitment of tech, non-tech and leadership roles. We’ve seen sustainable growth (30-40 people/year) and take the time to find the right talent. 
  • Ensure recruitment operations processes are optimised to be non-bureaucratic, and remove roadblocks by implementing incremental improvements.
  • Guide and support our hiring leads and hiring teams at different seniority levels throughout the entire recruitment cycle. Deliver 5-star service by proactively resolving issues. 
  • Design and lead valuable workshops, to increase hiring leads’ recruitment skills and confidence levels.
  • Create memorable candidate experiences that increasingly expand the knowledge, diversity, and representation of our team.
  • Be the go-to person in the company for all recruitment topics and provide advice on any TA questions.

Leading the TA Team (Interim)

  • Be the voice and advocate of the Talent Acquisition function at komoot.
  • Support the design, direction and success of our recruitment strategy, managing its execution across all touch points, prioritising initiatives with the highest impact and value for the business.
  • Monitor your teammates’ performance (currently 1 member), coach and mentor them, enabling them to reach their full potential. You understand that the best results are delivered together.
  • Define and track OKRs on a quarterly basis with the team, guiding and inspiring the team to  thrive and deliver their best work.
  • Conduct salary negotiations, lead development meetings, hiring and offboarding processes, if need be.
  • Consistently share your expertise to level up the team and peers on all things related to TA strategy, operations and execution.

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Have 5+ years experience in TA/ Recruitment  in-house from a successful, forward-thinking tech company and at least 2 of those leading a team.
  • Have led end-to-end recruitment (from job description to offer negotiation) for tech, non-tech,  leadership and hard-to-fill roles. 
  • Are comfortable interacting with senior leadership and stakeholders and leading them through complex projects, including onboardings, frameworks development and upskilling programs.
  • Are approachable, good listener, articulate, concise, and empathetic in your communication. 
  • Are a self-starter who thrives in a fast environment; you comfortably shift priorities, don’t shy away from challenges and bring projects to thorough completion.
  • Are passionate, curious, and informed about new TA trends, and aren’t afraid to try new things. 
  • You are a secret data nerd and know that TA metrics are the key to continuous improvement.
  • You treat recruitment as a product that serves our candidates and internal stakeholders and are skilled in designing and implementing scalable recruitment solutions that can grow with us.
  • You have experience working remotely from a remote first company and are an advocate for remote work.
  • Bonus: You love to spend your time actively exploring more of the great outdoors. That’s what we love to do too!

  • Core Communication time between 10 am – 3 pm (Berlin Time). We know people have different lifestyles, which is why we have flexible working hours with core time for synchronous interaction. You can organize your workday in the way that best suits you, your family, and your needs.
