Who we are

When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised by an insurance company? We bet the answer is never—and we’ve built Feather to change that.

We’re committed to creating a brand new insurance experience. We envision one without commission-hungry brokers, where our customers’ best interests are always at the center.

We’re a small, but ambitious team and we’re crazy about fintech and insurance. Our company was founded in 2018 by Rob (CEO) and Vincent (CTO). Vincent was one of the first employees at N26, where he was instrumental in building and scaling their iOS app. Rob was previously working at McKinsey, where he consulted top insurance companies on how to improve their digital strategy.

About the role

We’re looking for a product owner to lead one of our cross-functional insurance teams. At Feather our aim is to deliver the best customer experience in the insurance sector and your role will be to take ownership of several of our verticals to ensure that we perform on this goal. You will contribute to our growing insurance portfolio and will own several verticals end-to-end. You will be the responsible person, overseeing the entire lifecycle of your verticals from conception through development to continuous long-term iterations to ensure a frictionless experience for our users. This means you will get to see a complete cross-section of Feather and will have touch points with all of our departments.

You will work closely with our head of insurance to understand how our insurances work and will take this knowledge to build a product that is easy to use for our customers. This means managing the backlog and roadmap for a team consisting of a designer and several developers, defining processes for smooth handovers with our insurance partners, and working with our operations team to enable them to deliver stellar customer service. At each of these points, you will act as the voice of the customer, making sure that what we deliver is up to the standards that our customers have come to expect from us.

Your responsibilities:

  • Own several of our core insurance products end-to-end.
  • Manage the backlog of one of our cross-functional teams, consisting of developers and a designer.
  • Actively seek out customer needs and pain points, and gather product requirements.
  • Work with a designer to create amazing user experiences and validate them with customers.
  • Work with our insurance partners to iron out customer processes.
  • Always keep the flow going! Make sure operations, development, and everything in between is working smoothly on a daily basis.
  • As a result, you and your team’s work will make a difference to thousands of people, taking the stress out of intrinsically stressful processes—buying and using their insurance.

What you bring

  • You love solving problems.
  • Strong empathy for customers and an unwillingness to compromise on user-centered design.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • You are highly logical and (ideally) technical
  • Fluent English
  • Insurance domain knowledge is not necessary as we like to bring in fresh perspectives

Nice to have

  • German language skills are a plus.
  • Technical background (development- or data-related)
