Commitment & Contract

Full-time—permanent or fixed-term, depending on seniority.

Milan, Corso Como 15, or fully remote, if you can’t or don’t want to relocate. If you choose the on-site option, it’s still fine to sometimes work remotely. We offer substantial support for relocation, including finding an apartment in Milan and paying the rent for 12 weeks.

A few examples of your responsibilities:

  • Draft the 231 Model, implement it, and make sure it’s constantly kept up to date, with the support of some external advisors.
  • Become a member of the Surveillance Body (Organismo di Vigilanza).
  • Create, implement, and monitor an all-round compliance strategy, involving privacy, labour law, and finance-related matters. Just a few of the tasks you’ll deal with: defining and implementing internal financial policies, compiling KYC forms, onboarding new providers in compliance with internal policies and the applicable privacy regulation, and ensuring we’re fully compliant when it comes to workers with disabilities.
  • Train fellow Spooners on compliance-related topics.
  • Draft, implement, review, and optimize, with the support of colleagues and advisors, all of our internal policies to lower the risk of any legal breach by our company or a team member. If there’s a compliance breach, be the first responder.
  • Devise the insurance strategy, benchmark the suppliers, and negotiate terms and conditions with them.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

What We Offer

  • Make a difference. Enjoy a level of trust and maneuverability that few companies grant. You’ll be a major factor in making Bending Spoons a huge success.
  • No micromanaging. Be the owner of your effort—from day one, you’ll be one of the team and fully trusted to take responsibility for your tasks. You’ll have every incentive to make a real impact.
  • People who lift one another up. We hire for talent and leave the ego at the door. You’ll find a group of truly talented Spooners who are eager to learn and teach their secrets. Reciprocal support and respect is everything—you’re unlikely to ever encounter a more harmonious crew.
  • Continuous education. We pay for your Italian/English language lessons and offer an unlimited budget for learning investments.
  • Unique work environment. We’re one of the most exciting companies in Europe—you’ll experience firsthand a workplace that blends the hustle of a startup with the impact of a global force in tech.
  • Top-of-the-market salary and stock options in a tech rocket ship. Our total compensation is very competitive and can grow rapidly and include stock options, depending on your performance.
  • Lots. Of. Fun. Our incredible People Operations team organizes awesome events, such as team games, drinks, yoga classes, parties, and regular company-wide retreats. Recent destinations include Bali, Argentina, and Tanzania.
  • Remote working, flexible schedule, and unlimited vacations. This isn’t a “clock in, clock out” company. We care about your productivity, not tracking every minute you’re on site. It’s up to you to always be responsible with your work, no matter where you are or what schedule you’re keeping.
  • Relocation package. To ease your move to Milan, should you decide to relocate, the first three months of rent are on us. Visa support is provided for those who need it.
  • Top-notch HQ. Natural light, silent rooms, state-of-the-art hardware, fun-filled common spaces… the list never ends! You’ll certainly be in the right environment to do your best work. And, when it’s time to switch off, you can do that in style and comfort.

What We Look For

  • Passion for the topic. You’re truly obsessive about business compliance strategies.
  • Relevant expertise. You have a deep and clear understanding of the role and the tasks involved, either because you’ve already worked in the field or because you were adequately trained for the job.
  • Analytical reasoning and depth of learning. You proceed with clear, logical steps, and show excellent judgment in analyzing each problem from every angle. You learn new concepts and skills rapidly, and love to nerd out and go in-depth.
  • Business orientedness and common sense. Far from strictly academic, your thinking is always well-grounded in reality and aimed at helping the business move further, faster.
  • Pragmatism. You’re practical and pragmatic enough to recognize the importance of doing it once, and doing it right. At the same time, you appreciate that, in tech, things need to move at the speed of light.
  • Integrity and non-dogmatism. Your work will impact our company’s reputation, which we want to remain spotless. You show an exceptional level of integrity, while being flexible enough to reject dogmatism.
  • Work ethic. You’re energetic, hard-working, and persevere through adversity until the job is done—and done impeccably. You’re all about getting results, and always aim for excellence in what you do. You can be entrusted with responsibilities big and small.
  • Diligence and organizational skills. You’re impressively organized and utterly unflappable, handling multiple parallel projects and numerous assignments without breaking a sweat.
  • Smart precision. You’re known and respected for your accuracy and attention to detail, on major and minor tasks alike.
  • Proficient in English and Italian. As this job involves both languages every day, you must speak, read, and write excellently in both English and Italian.
