The role in a nutshell
Safeguard Global is looking for an Associate Counsel to join its in-house legal team. Safeguard Global enables its clients to navigate the complexity of recruiting, hiring, and paying its expanding international workforce by providing local expertise to provide outstanding and reliable services. In this role, you will advise on a variety of legal and business matters with a focus on commercial contracts.
This position is 100% remote and can be located anywhere in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
How you will make a difference:
·Provide employment law advice regarding onboarding, disputes, leave, HR policies and employee relation issues in global employment matters to HR and management teams
·Handle employment disputes and investigations and work with external employment counsel where appropriate and with an eye toward cost control
·Develop and provide training to HR representatives on best practices in employment law
·Update employment contracts, draft separation agreements, craft and implement policies, procedures and negotiation strategies
·Provide practical advice to business teams on commercial contracts, amendments, and data protection agreements and addenda and supporting deal process and execution
·Work collaboratively with Sales focused on providing support and ensuring efficiency in the negotiation process.
·Use legal and business acumen to analyze issues and succinctly communicate the facts and recommendations to management
·Other duties as assigned by the Director of Legal
What will give you an advantage:
·Experienced lawyer qualified to practice in one or more European jurisdictions
·Experience advising on employment law matters
·Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly and positively influence others
·Practical attitude and business intelligence
·Ability to prioritize and manage projects or requests from internal client groups in a high-demand and fast-paced environment
·Willingness to learn new areas of law, acquire new skills, and take on additional or new responsibilities on an as-needed basis
·Understanding of data privacy principles (GDPR) is preferred
·Law firm experience is preferred
