EU Remote Jobs started as a Facebook group back in 2018, at a time when remote jobs were largely only open to people living in the US. The first version of EU Remote Jobs was created in 2019 and since then we have grown to be the largest dedicated remote jobs board to European time zones, with 3 million job views every month.

The Founder, Rachel, believed that remote jobs could better distribute high-quality job opportunities around the world, where candidates had access to job opportunities based on ability, rather than location. While also impacting the competitive nature of companies in the war for talent, as a fair salary and benefits may become non-negotiable.

We have always been focused on a preference for full-time remote jobs, rather than gig work, and as we strongly believe that remote work should not come at the cost of job security, fair pay, and access to statutory benefits. But as companies implement strategies to hire across multi-countries, the tax, and legal implications of cross-border hiring create a challenge for companies that is not always easy to remedy.

These challenges have encouraged us to investigate how we can eliminate the barriers for companies to hire across Europe, and for jobseekers to access secure job opportunities. The current solution, most widely used in remote working, is to contract an Employer of Record, but this means that companies outsource the employment of their team. And it is restrictively expensive for many companies, or for scaling a team.

So we created EU Remote, facilitating direct employment between the employer and employee in Europe, as an alternative to contracting an Employer of Record, or establishing additional entities.

Between EU Remote Jobs and EU Remote, we hope to open to the entire European market for companies looking for access the best talent. And in turn, give job seekers, wherever they are based, the opportunity to access fair, secure employment opportunities.
